Initially, staff pharmacist. I also served as PIC and staffing at our Everett pharmacy as needed through my years at PayLess. In 2009, my duties changed to Pharmacist Trainer. I was responsible for training all new pharmacist staff, at all sites. Then, in 8/2011, I was promoted to Corporate Pharmacy Coordinator. This meant I was responsible for writing policies and procedures and coordinating all sites to be functioning the same way. Along with this, we started planning out our Alameda County, California pharmacy in early 2011 which opened in late Fall 2011. I was the initial PIC for set up and passing the Board inspections until a permanent PIC was hired. In June, 2013 we merged with Signature pharmacy and I was very involved with staffing at the Signature site prior to and during the merge. During this merge, we also changed our computer software system to Framework. I was on the conversion team for the 2 year long process and continue to act as the pharmacist representative in update meetings and system option changes. I continue to staff as needed and assist the other pharmacists in learning our new software and looking for ways to improve our systems.

This was a start up company, providing home infusion and enteral care to patients. We also had some custom compounding as a side entity.I worked very closely with IV nurses, coordinating care, initial training, weekly visits for dressing changes and medication deliveries. Occasionally pharmacists also did home visits in as needed situations. We also had a home health nursing agency and a pediatric nursing care agency associated with us that we would occasionally coordinate care with.We became JCAHO accredited while I was at NWHC.

    • Clinical Staff Pharmacist
      • Sep 1988 - Jun 1999

Here I learned all aspects of long term care pharmacy. I had a few skilled nursing facilities that I was responsible for consulting at in addition to staffing in the pharmacy. I worked in the IV therapy department also, managing patient therapies, mixing products as needed and coordinating nursing visits. We also had a full enteral therapy department along with medical surgical supplies that pharmacists assisted in as needed.

    • Clinical Pharmacist
      • Jun 1986 - Aug 1988

Initially I was an IV pharmacist, working in the primary pharmacy, preparing IV medications and checking IV medications for all hospital patients. Later, I became the graveyard pharmacist, solely responsible for all pharmacy activities, from midnight until 5:00 AM, including codes and all orders.

This was a temporary pharmacist position covering for a maternity leave. There was an 80 bed long term care wing associated with this hospital. Job duties were all aspects of a small, rural hospital along with filling med cassettes for the long term care residents.
