As the PATHS Program Associate, I plan and implement lessons and creative activities that follow the PATHS (Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies) curriculum, to promote social and emotional development of children in grades 1-3 at the Youth LIFE After-School program. I determine topics based on the assessed needs of the individuals, gained from observation in various arenas. I measure program effectiveness through pre and post testing, and communication with teachers and parents. As a group leader in the Bopic Summer Nutritional program, I worked with a diverse group of 20-30 first grade (2012) and second grade (2013) students from low income families of Chambersburg, PA. I developed and led activities for my class that encouraged positive social interaction and character building while promoting acceptable school behavior. I assisted partners and encouraged participation in pre-planned Bopic activities (Field trips, Girl Scouts, etc.). The program demonstrated and reinforced the value of a nutritional diet and regular exercise. Show less

I provided support and assistance to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including personal care, life and social skills development, community involvement, and other needs indicated by the individual’s ISP. I administered medications and ensured the safe use of adaptive devices. Documenting and communicating daily outcomes with staff team was essential.
