I had the pleasure and good fortune of working alongside Deanna for 7 years, at first in a parallel, support staff capacity and then as colleagues in the same division. In that role, she oversaw and had ultimate responsibility for the multi-layered research work with which our division was tasked. The research area we had responsibility for was very strategic, and relied on accurate data, creative ways to gather information, understanding and intimate knowledge of research practices and the ability to translate all of this into actionable brand recommendations and strategies. Whether small, ad hoc projects; or comprehensive brand or market exploration studies; Deanna was always instrumental in ensuring that the project was completed thoroughly, on budget, to the satisfaction of clients. Her ability to encourage the many researchers who worked for her, to guide them and to include them as part of the team resulted in higher levels of productivity, better deliverables and ultimately higher client satisfaction (as measured by repeat contracts.) Deanna will be a strong addition to any research team, at any level.

Deanna and I were colleagues at Harris Interactive between 2001 and 2008, where she managed several business units. She was instrumental in helping the company to achieve historic revenue growth. Not only is Deanna a solid researcher, but she’s also a professional business executive and strategist who is adept at understanding business issues and able to design strategies to address those issues. She empowered her direct reports to develop and implement tactical plans, but worked closely with them to ensure the plans did not stray far from the overall strategy. More importantly, her deep understanding of business issues enabled her to demonstrate the flexibility needed to change direction when the situation called for a course correction. Deanna was well respected throughout the organization for her finesse as a leader and her entrepreneurial spirit. She is motivating without being overbearing and insightful without being arrogant. She is a tremendous listener, an excellent judge of talent and tenacious in her pursuit of excellence. She is a caring person, but does not shy away from making difficult decisions. While she seeks to engage her direct reports on a personal level, she does not let those relationships interfere with the job at hand. Deanna has the rare ability to deal with a myriad of details without losing sight of the big picture. Deanna would be an extraordinarily valuable resource for anyone in need of a business leader."
