I had the pleasure of learning from Professor Roberts in his spring 2018 class, "Manufacturing in the Global Economy." Professor Roberts lectured about the manufacturing strategies of major firms and the government support structures that created market-based incentives for them. The class went over sources of competitive advantages, game theory based decisions, and incorporated numerous case studies on major aerospace firms. This was by far my favorite class at UVa. The material was engaging and complex, but structured in digestible manner. Professor Roberts and his knowledge of the aerospace industry made the class a unique in invaluable experience, unlike any other at UVa.

Dean's understanding of the Corporate and Regional aircraft industry was a crucial piece of the puzzle in my successful completion of a project concerning the sizing of the civil aerospace market. Dean's specific knowledge of the key players, and his willingness to see the job done right saved me considerable research effort, ensuring the project was delivered accurately, on time and with praise from the sponsors.
