      The Cal-Mortgage Loan Insurance Program has insured more than $7.7 billion in loans to California non-profit/public entity for health facility construction and expansion projects. Cal-Mortgage maintains a Special Fund that currently has a balance of approximately $170 million from which the Program has operated at no cost to taxpayers.       As many of you know I am an avid cyclist and spend a lot of my free time riding from Old Sacramento to Folsom and back via the American River Parkway. In March of 2015 I had the great honor of being elected to the Board of Directors of the American River Parkway Foundation (ARPF). The ARPF has a 20-person Board, and a $1 million dollar annual operating budget, which it uses to foster environmental education, stewardship and volunteer opportunities along the Parkway. It feels good giving my time and passion to an organization that helps make Sacramento a great place to live and play. The ARPF is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, which relies heavily on grant and donation funding each year in order to coordinate the efforts of hundreds of volunteers who contribute thousands of work hours to maintain and improve the Parkway. The efforts of the small but mighty staff at ARPF ensure that over 5 million visitors are able to have a unique Sacramento experience out on the Parkway. Show less
