Susan Grantlin
The funniest people I know are also the most intelligent. You have to be because you are observing human behavior and processing what makes people tick. Dean is without a doubt, the most creative, problem-solving, insightful and brilliant people I know. Dean brings out the best in everyone. He raises the bar and it's a joy to meet or exceed the expectations of the client. I also know Dean and his family. He is a person of integrity, a devoted family man and someone who makes a difference in your life. He brings out the best in everyone!

Dean is one of those enjoyable individuals who, when you are in the trenches trying to figure out a difficult technology, has the sense of humor and sense of wonder to make the task fun, efficient and memorable. I have worked with Dean on several occasions and always look forward to his spot-on insight, his ability to break down a process to its basic elements and come up with some pretty remarkable new ideas when he rebuilds the process. Dean also uses analogies to better communicate his ideas in a relevant way the whole group can easily grasp. If you get the chance, be the first on your block to sign up and work with this brilliant mind.

We are wired as humans to communicate through story. Stories allow us to make strong emotional connections with other people. If you want someone to consider you for a job, listen to your idea or understand why what you’re doing matters, you need to be able to tell them a story. Storytellers move us forward. I teach the Master of Engineering Management Program Internship Assessment class, which helps students learn how to reflect on their experiences and how to tell their story. Staff member for an incredible program that teaches leadership to Virginia Beach City Public School students. Everything I've done in my career was influenced by this summer job with fantastic people who taught me that leadership is a service, the real value of sweat, and the meaning of the phrase "sometimes family is better when you are not related."
