I had the pleasure of being a fellow Masters student with Dean, over a two-year period in the Royal College of Surgeons, Dubai. Dean is highly driven & proactive, yet in a calm and smooth manner. Dean works extremely well under pressure with tight deadlines, in fact this and his excellent communications skills are some of his top qualities. I’ve seen Dean reach out of his way to help fellow pupils and without a doubt is a brilliant source of knowledge in addition to being an exceptional team member.

    • Facilities & Support Services Manager
      • Mar 2011 - Jun 2018

In this role, I managed multiple specialized medical centers including operational activities such as support services, facilities management, environmental health & safety, medical equipment management, procurement, emergency preparedness and patient flow. Key Responsibilities & Achievements include: Lead DOH, CAPA and JCIA audits for new & existing facility licensing and accreditation. From a facilities management and safety perspective, I consistently led and achieved accreditation, re-accreditation and audit passes from accreditation bodies and regulatory bodies, representing 4 inspections, as well as more than 25 audits for center expansions, new centers’ licensing and re-licensing. Troubleshooted operational issues by reviewing and adjusting existing systems and processes by conducting root cause analysis. I personally created and implemented the procurement processes, created job roles and improved the negotiating power with suppliers by introducing a standardized Item Master list thereby creating a consistent reporting structure, and ultimately leading to an overall cost savings of approximately 15%. Assisted in creating strategy to ensure efficient patient pathways and patient waiting times are minimized. I developed, introduced and trained staff on an internal helpdesk system to track and follow up all facilities issues. Worked closely with the IT team to develop the system, which assigned importance levels to incidents and set KPI’s for SLA’s against each helpdesk ticket. This resulted in an overall improved response time for incidents being resolved against a target of 90%. Performed risk analysis and initiate quality improvement plans. Created an asset management system to better track assets. This allowed for better resource optimization, as well as ensuring that corrective and preventative maintenance was carried out when required, instead of replacing the equipment, resulting with an overall saving of 500,000 AED over the past 5 years.
