• Directed a strategic partnership between the ASAA and Harvard Medical School to establish a new research community as part of the groundbreaking National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network. • Secured a three-year, $2.5 million contract from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute to improve treatment adherence and outcomes in patients with both chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and sleep apnea and engagement models between chronic and rare patient-advocacy groups and other stakeholders. • Conceived and obtained a two-year $250,000 Patient Engagement Award contract from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute called Using Social Media to Develop and Maintain Patient and Stakeholder Relationships in the Sleep Community to engage and empower patients. • Designed and served as co-principal investigator of the SleepHealth Mobile App Study, the first patient-designed and patient-funded Apple ResearchKit study and the first conducted in partnership with Apple and IBM Watson Health Cloud. Raised $150,000 in major donor funding. • Established Sleeptember.org, a social-marketing campaign bringing together patients, advocates and researchers to crowdsource funds, research topics, social marketing ideas, and provide peer support. • Revised and expanded a program that provides medical equipment to low-income and other patients in need.
