Providing on-site support to the DHS Bio-Surveillance team to use the appropriate technology to speed-up the information retrieval in almost real-time. The system is a hybrid between a document management and BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE. The system collects roughly unstructured 5000 documents per day. I have been able to convert the documents into structured environment using Natural Language Processing (ATTENSITY). Based on that, we are able to perform BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE functionality to predict and do trend analysis on the Bio-events happening around the world. I have been very successful in implementing Oracle Technology such as Oracle APEX, Oracle Thesaurus, Oracle TEXT, Oracle Middleware, ATTENSITY (Natural Language Parser), Oracle Spatial Data.I implemented VMWare and ESX Server to create a cloud computing environment for running the Biosurveillance system.By this methodology, our client are able to re-allocate servers, memory, and CPU on-the-fly.Architect the solution for Storage Area Network using Dell Equallogic / EMC Clarion.To make the database Highly-Available,I successfully installed and configured Real Application Cluster (RAC), DataGuard, Automatic Storage Management (ASM) for the Oracle Database.Also implemented Oracle Mapviewer in conjunction with Google Maps and Bing Maps.
