Day was introduced to us by a dear mutual friend and colleague. Our virtual meeting was supposed to be the first of many interviews to come. We were on a search for someone with business and IT knowledge that could bring our project to a final stage. Once we were off the call we almost immediately decided that we want to work with Day. His kind and understanding spirit was a pleasant surprise in the business world. He listened to our needs and concerns with great attention. Day knew exactly what our company required and was ready to commit and take us there. He offered us a realistic time frame and a true assessment of our current situation. We are presently still working with Day and we look forward to our weekly calls. Conversations with Day provide us peace of mind and we can easily see the progress we are making. I wish there were more people like him out there who genuinely care about the other person and the symbiotic relationship between everyday life and business.

I highly recommend working with Day to help clarify your goals and discover your capacity to see things differently than you have been used to. Day holds multiple perspectives with fluidity and has a keen ear for distinctions. Let Day help you get beyond your current limitations and create the change you most fervently yearn for in your life and in the world.

Working with Day is powerful. He holds a high and broad vision of what we’re up to while delivering results. As a project manager, he simultaneously inspires, reflects, and organizes next steps so that we keep the big picture in mind while succeeding at the step-by-step tasks to get to the goal! I am impressed with Day’s many many talents, but the key skill he has is one that cannot be taught: wisdom. Deep wisdom. Day carries this in spades and it is an honor to work with him to create a better world, through solid steps and collaboration. Work with Day. It will change your life and possibly... the world.

What gives my life meaning is to serve and protect the living earth and her people. My mission is to equip the regenerative movement at scale at the pace of the metacrisis, connecting place-based systems change initiatives with trust-based funding, and empowering a global network of networks with tools for coordination. I truly believe that for our species to thrive we need to maximize the number of us who are fully prepared and resourced to contribute collaboratively to co-create a regenerative unfolding. I don't think of this as political, but rather the rational pursuit of my aspirations on behalf of humanity and the greater blossoming of consciousness in the cosmos. Show less

      • Concept to MVP in 90 Days • Hands-on Engineering to Prototype w/ Meteor, React, and MongoDB • CI/CD w/ GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes As the first hire at Shoppies, I worked with the founders on technology requirements and development roadmap, and built out the first iteration of our signature brand customization tool, bringing us from concept to product in less than 90 days. I laid the groundwork for scaling; bootstrapping a MERN stack web app with an Express API, containerizing these in Docker, and setting up our GitOps CI/CD process using GCP's Cloud Build and Kubernetes Engine. As we added to our engineering team, I onboarded new hires, developed documentation, and advocated best practices to keep development running smoothly. Show less

At RepairPal, I maintained and extended a hand-rolled Ruby app leveraging the AdWords API to automate SEM campaigns. I was responsible for feature development in RoR for the main RepairPal.com website. This position was equal parts back-end utilities, delayed processes, data, analysis, behavior tracking, and reporting; and front-end templates, tweaks, and one-offs. (I also maintained residual development and hosting clients for Azimuth Internet Services on the side during this time; thus the date range overlap.) Show less

During this brief contract software engineering engagement for Azimuth Internet, I helped build out a system for the cloud-based configuration and management of wireless network hardware for NETGEAR. In addition to employing agile methodologies (morning standup, weekly scrum, planning poker, etc.), we also used JIRA, Assembla, and other tools, helping us to get on the same page, connect tickets to topic branches, and stay on track during sprints. This was the best-organized team I've ever had the privilege of being on, and it was deeply rewarding to participate in a circle of accountability and support for getting it done right; at once the most methodical, and the most enjoyable. In addition to RoR, RSpec, and Jasmine, I had the opportunity to work a bit with Clojure and Leiningen (very intriguing) and had some DevOps fun with running Capistrano scripts to make deployments to AWS. I was involved with every stage of e-commerce and web application development. From first contact with prospective clients, through assessing their business needs and objectives, analyzing their challenges and designing systems to respond to those challenges, right up to the hand-coding of those solutions, integration with HTML & Flash design elements, back-end server scripts & palm pilot applications, and the support of these solutions, including debugging, updates, upgrades, documentation, and user support. I handled client communications with other elements of PremiereLink's enterprise including print & radio advertising, web placement & promotion, and branding. I worked in concert with clients, account reps, advertisers, web production management, design teams, and other programmers to produce dynamic, robust, and scalable web applications. Show less

    • Application Developer
      • 1999 - 2000

I programmed web applications in ColdFusion. I integrated HTML, JavaScript, and Cold Fusion solutions to produce dynamic web pages with a high degree of interactivity. I became more familiar with ASP, SQL, CSS and many other languages and protocols during my stint with this company; it served both as an initiation and a foot in the door. When I first interviewed, I got the job with no prior experience by offering to learn on the job and work for half the pay they were offering ($7.50/hr instead of $15). After two weeks they told me I had underestimated my skills and moved me up to $13/hr. Three months later they offered me the full $15. I feel confident I could do this again today; give me any language, any skill, regardless of any prior experience, and I will pick it up on the fly and be up to speed in a very short time frame. Among other tasks, I fielded telephone, fax, and email inquiries about difficulties being experienced by customers when using Palo Alto Software's Business Plan Pro, Marketing Plus, Marketing Plan Pro, or Cash Plan Pro. In this fast-paced job, I solved problems resulting from program errors, user errors, shared file conflicts, defective media, and network connection issues, as well as provided assistance in the fundamentals of the software tools themselves, including accounting and business planning. I compiled databases of issues and created templates for common problems. I also built a database application for managing information critical to the Technical Support Dept. I refined skills for communicating with and helping frustrated, and sometimes openly hostile customers, and bringing resolution to difficult issues. Show less
