Sample Impact Investing Deal: We used a revenue-based debt instrument (similar to mezzanine debt) to fund a network of dialysis clinics in Mexico. We invested $3M USD and also catalyzed a matching co-investment from one of their current equity investors. I coordinated all of our fundraising efforts for the deal, managed operations, and built our longer-term investment strategy. Through the investment, we hoped to provide an additional 600,000 dialysis treatments and save 3,000 lives in a country where chronic kidney disease is the second-leading cause of death. Show less

Sample Projects: Growth Strategy-We developed the five-year growth strategy for a leading specialty chemicals company. We began by aggregating the growth expectations and requirements from the board and leadership team, after which we mapped out all industries they could expand into and how it would affect current and future strategic decisions. In a board meeting, we recommended a staged growth pathway that would achieve their growth goals, maintain the right amount of leverage, and set them up for future growth in the space.Market Research-We performed a pricing study for a leading waste management company impacted by US-China tariffs. Faced with a massive cost burden (from shipping recycling to China for processing), they needed to understand the optimal price point for recycling services. We performed a conjoint study by surveying thousands of customers and asking which features impacted their willingness to pay, and provided a recommendation that would allow them to continue offering that service to customers.Transformation-We helped a Fortune-100 software company integrate a standalone customer service unit into their larger customer service group. This involved working heavily with client groups and project managing the process through completion. There were significant areas of overlap within some of the groups, and we were able to repurpose redundant service reps without any layoffs. Show less
