I've had the pleasure of working with Dayna as a board member of the Iowa Women's Foundation, both during her time as Interim Executive Director and then after her move to the permanent ED position. She is patient, diligent and resourceful, and has moved a struggling organization forward measurably in her short time with us. I feel confident that the foundation is moving in the right direction with Dayna in charge!

Redesigned food bank services to better meet clients' diverse needs, increase efficiency, maxmize volunteer workforce, incorporate in-kind resources and tracked program outcomes. Responsible for developing budget and securing community resources (financial and in-kind) to meet growing programmatic needs. Successfully addressed growing client demand by increasing hours from 3 days per week to 5 days per week; reduced budget impact by tripling volunteer labor, adding workstudy students/interns and one part-time staff person. Maximized community contributions by negotiating reduced rates with vendors, seeking greater in-kind contributions and partnering with other nonprofit organizations to share resources. Increased awareness of program and client needs through speaking engagement, service on community boards and outreach to elected officials. Secured additional funding through corporate and community grants. Sought community partners and developed a system of over 25 annual food drives to keep shelves stocked. Co-facilitated Project Holiday Community Giving Partnership which streamlined holiday giving programs for Johnson County residents in need. Developed extensive county-wide resource guide for emergency services to increase accessiblity and reduce service duplication. Show less
