As the Associate Director and Advertising Manager for Student Media and The Daily Toreador my main focus is sales training and working closely and on a daily basis with The Daily Toreador Advertising Account Executives. I meet with them to set goals, discuss how to call on certain accounts, work on phone, email and text etiquette and focus on how they can become better in sales. We also look at their strengths, work on their resume and discuss what they hope to do after graduation. Every semester I usually have 2 or more students graduate and the entire process starts again.

In my role as Outside Classified Sales Representative at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal I handled Automotive, Real Estate and Service Customers on a daily basis. My largest account was an Automotive Group that owned 5 different dealerships which all ran advertisements on a daily basis. This job was fast paced and deadline driven. There were special sections to sell and goals to meet. The training I received from The AJ helped me to move to the position I currently have and I would never been able to do the job I do now without this experience.
