  As a volunteer and foster at Angels Among Us Pet Rescue I take in foster dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages (usually 1-2 dogs at a time) and provide them with a loving home until they are fortunate enough to find their forever family. Some of the dogs I have fostered were cherished family pets who ended up in the shelter when their families financial situation offered no other options. Those dogs are usually quite well socialized and adjusted. Other dogs have never known a fully belly, consistent shelter, and the loving touch of a human. Those dogs can take months to learn to love and trust that I will not hurt them. Either way, the rewards of fostering far outweigh any negatives (accidents in the house, a chewed up shoe, etc.). The love expressed by these dogs who know that they have been given a second chance at life is payment enough to keep me fostering forever! Show less
