  I help Child Development Associate candidates to obtain their CDA certificate by conducting Verification Visits with Candidates to assess competency and support teachers’ growing skills. This includes the following: • Review the Candidate’s Professional Portfolio, training transcripts/certificates and Family Questionnaires • Observe the Candidate working with children and record criterion evidence • Reflect with the Candidate, focusing on areas of strength or growth found in the Portfolio or seen in the Observation. I then submit Competency Recommendation Scores to the Council online. This score, combined with the results of the new CDA Exam, will contribute to the Candidate’s final credentialing decision.
