I have the honour to work with a dedicated team that will serve ~104,000 residents of Kitchener-Centre with their issues and concerns that can be addressed federally. Like many ridings, immigration questions are a top priority for constituents. In addition to the office coordination, I will be looking for opportunities to take action on the top priorities of Kitchener-Centre residents through community engagement and organizing, with a focus on housing affordability, health care and climate action! I will plan events to bring the community together - town halls, back-yard chats and other activities to connect with constituents. I will work with our Communications Director and other team members to ensure a strong presence in the riding, especially while the MP is in Ottawa. Show less

    • Development Officer
      • Jul 2013 - Nov 2021

At House of Friendship, I am a multi-tasking expert! I need to lean on my organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines, teams and partners to bring House of Friendship’s signature events to life! I also pride myself in delivering an outstanding donor/client experience every single time to grow donors’ commitment to and affinity for House of Friendship’s mission. I build meaningful relationships with intent and positivity and have a clear other-centric approach in all my interactions. I am the ‘public ‘face’ of House of Friendship special events, responsible for providing fantastic stewardship for event attendees and other stakeholders in addition to other assigned donor segments. It is an honour to walk these groups through a deeply meaningful relationship journey with the mission of House of Friendship. Show less

    • Children's and Youth Program Coordinator
      • Jan 2005 - Jun 2011

As a staff member at Stanley Park Community Church (SPCC), it was all about relationships! Building bonds with the children, teens, college-and-careers aged youth and their parents. With a listening ear, and a desire to strengthen faith and the community, I created countless events and activities, facilitated group times, led and supported week-long overnight camp, and even fundraised for and executed an international service project! I coordinated and led weekly Sunday and after-school programs and evening and weekend youth programs. An integral part of the role was to identify, recruit and train new volunteers and to support and encourage current volunteers to build a caring, engaged support network around the children and youth from the church and from our community that were in our care. In addition to my weekly roles, I organized and executed larger, annual events, like youth and adult retreats, community carnivals, fundraisers and special seasonal programs such as the children and youth's Christmas presentations. Events I led were are defined by their energy, high level of coordination and an atmosphere of welcome! Show less

    • Rehabilitation Supervisor
      • 1993 - Apr 1996

With a strong desire to help others combined with my human kinetics background, I was given more responsibility with my transfer to The O'Neill Centre. I continued to successfully assist physiotherapists in providing treatment to increase residents' range of motion, reduce pain to improve their quality of life. As I grew in my skills, I initiated and managed more complex mobility aid recommendations, including restorative feeding devices. I coordinated and conducted restorative device education sessions for team members to ensure continuity of care with the introduction of new devices. I was honoured to take my knowledge to create a presentation on the importance of correctly prescribed wheelchair chair seating to a crowd of 200+ at an industry seminar day. I participated in the overall facility operations as a member of the Occupation Health and Safety Committee. Show less
