• Designed and assembled extruded aluminum structures. • Developed and improved VBA project management tools including automatically updating BOM tracking and interactive Gantt chart • Developed VBA tool to perform tip analysis and calculate anchor pullout forces in structures given user-defined applied loads and anchor locations/specifications. • Developed VBA tool to calculate floor loading given custom load point data. Summarizes loading visually with a color-coded floor schematic discretized into a user-defined matrix. • Generated assembly and part drawings for quotes and manufacturing. • Created custom pallets in Visual Components for use in system simulations. • Standardized part and assembly naming in large CAD assemblies to allow for streamlined sharing of files on cloud-based server. Fall 2021 (Thermal Analysis Branch, Propulsion): Peer reviewing and modernizing historic thermal model of a cryogenic fluid management system using Thermal Desktop and Sinda Fluint. Replacing tank's internal boundary nodes with fluid modelling to expand model's capabilities to include transient analysis of tank filling, boil-off, and tank pressurization. Performing data analysis on results to ensure validity and correlation to existing test data. Assisting with on-site infrared thermography and other testing as needed. Summer 2021 (Vehicle Thermal Analysis and Control): Analyzed thermal and fluid performance of a conceptual Lunar Surface Habitat radiator. Built parametrized 3D thermal model of a single radiator panel utilizing Thermal Desktop and Sinda Fluint. Iteratively investigated pipe geometries and the resulting heat rejection and power requirements in multiple environments, motivating the decision to change the pipe geometry in the radiator design. Corroborated single-panel predictive results by modeling a full four-panel system, showing less than 2% difference in the estimated results. Fall 2020 (Engine Systems): Collaborated on mock single RS-25 engine testing and data review process improvement. Modernized onboarding package with SharePoint structure. Spearheaded the development of a data processing Excel tool with no previous VBA experience. Coded more than 100 subroutines which collectively automated the generation of the 60+ data files used in the Space Launch System's Core Stage Green Run testing activities. Took ownership of the project and independently added the abilities of automatically reformatting external files for compatibility with NASA's data processing utilities and generating specifically formatted text files for more than 15 different applications, saving hours of engineering time that was previously devoted to preparing the files by hand. Authored detailed instruction manual allowing for seamless continued development of the tool. Show less
