The Giant Magellan Telescope Organization is a non-profit aiming to construct one of the world's largest telescopes. The Giant Magellan Telescope consortium includes Astronomy Australia Ltd., The Australian National University, Carnegie Institution for Science, Harvard University, Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, Smithsonian Institution, Texas A&M University, The University of Arizona, The University of Chicago, and The University of Texas at Austin. As Director of External Affairs, I am responsible for marketing, public relations, and other science/technology-based communications. Additionally, I support fundraising efforts by conducting research and preparing fundraising materials. My position enables me to make use of my science background as well as my love of writing.
