      PROJECT/ROLE DESCRIPTION Elections Canada was looking for a senior Cognos consultant to help transform their organization to self-service reporting using IBM Cognos Analytics version 11. The main activities performed included: - Performing administrative tasks around the Cognos environment, including: o Troubleshooting server and performance issues using logging, reviewing logs, fixing issues or creating workarounds, working with IBM support when required. o Implementing security model and process based on the Elections Canada licenses & reporting requirements. o Creating reporting/dashboard templates. o Using MetaManager to perform content deployment, backups and bulk changes. - Leading all development activities for CEO dashboards for the general election. This includes: o Performing requirement analysis and ensuring requirements are clearly defined. o Designing, developing IBM Cognos 11 Framework Manager model for a new data warehouse and ODS, as well as report templates and mock-ups for different user groups. o Working with BA's, data warehouse, ETL and Test teams to ensure all requirements were met. o Generating test data in the data warehouse using Redgate. o Designing, developing highly visual dashboards in the IBM Cognos Analytics to showcase new Cognos 11 capabilities. o Providing status updates. o Making recommendations. o Implementing custom controls for advanced prompting. o Migrating content to UAT and Prod environments. o Providing support and expert advice on everything related to Cognos products. o Providing fixes and solutions to open tickets for complex Cognos dashboards and reports that included Esri Map integration using Integeo software.
