David has a track record of addressing adversity and more importantly delivering in difficult circumstances. His role as GM at Falkirk FC illustrates perfectly his ability to analyse a situation and respond with a full turnaround that measures clearly on the balance sheet and in added brand value. In a tremendously difficult leisure sector (football) David has shown the importance of integrity in dealing with significant challenges and delivering with equal aplomb. Critically, David has also led the way in integrating community Foundation work into the fabric of the club. This has led to production of a number of highly talented young footballers and perhaps, most poignantly of all, has ensured the club are fully immersed and embedded in the DNA of the Falkirk community in making a difference. An elite individual, thoroughly recommended.

I was appointed Chairman of DYW - Forth Valley in November 2016. Developing the Young Workforce is an industry led initiative supported by the Scottish Government which aims to reduce the level of youth unemployment in Scotland. The project team will provide a single point of contact for employers which will hopefully improve the number of positive destinations for young people when they leave school, college or university. • General Manager
      • Jun 2008 - May 2014

During this period, I led the team which turned round the business of Falkirk FC. When I became General Manager in 2010, the club was making annual losses of £850,000 and had debts in excess of £1m. At the 2015 AGM, the club announced an annual profit of £1.25m. In addition, all major creditors had been paid off and all loans to directors had been repaid. The club is now debt free. At the professional level, I was responsible for the administration of the club, including all player registrations and contracts and for dealing with professional bodies such as the SFA and SPFL on all club licensing and disciplinary matters. In addition, I prepared the submission and represented the club at a FIFA tribunal in Switzerland at which the club were awarded £200,000 in compensation for the transfer of a player to Bradford City. I was also responsible for overseeing the Falkirk Football Academy which in addition to producing many talented young players for the first team generated more than £2m in income for the club through player transfers. Finally, I sat on the Board of the Falkirk Football Community Foundation which was responsible for the development of football at grass roots level and was voted "Best Community Initiative" by the SFA in 2015.
