Public Relations Intern
-
Jan 2021 - May 2021
As a public relations intern, I assisted the PR department in developing and executing proactive and creative strategies to connect with media and earn coverage on behalf of EPIC’s clients. Additionally, I helped support the PR department in daily functions including writing articles and media pitches, tracking placements, and reporting on media coverage—all while learning the processes of a full-service advertising agency. I absolutely loved it!

Fish Sticks Comedy has grown from a three-person team hoping to benefit a few organizations, to one that has performed coast-to-coast, having troupes in four locations (Dallas, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; and Denver, Colorado being the others). I’ve had the opportunity to work with hundreds of organizations, entertain audiences of up to 4,000 people, as well as facilitate workshops for groups of varying sizes regarding performance, business/organizational communication, and team-building. Small Groups Ministry Intern
-
Jun 2017 - Aug 2018
Two separate terms: Summer 2017, Summer 2018 I’m grateful for my time serving Epikos Church. This multifaceted internship was structured heavily around organizational and interpersonal communication. My primary role was to provide research, written content, and editing services for our church-wide curriculum that served around 100 small groups. Given my proven abilities, I was also honored with the opportunity to assist new church members and baptismal candidates in writing their testimonies and communicating their faith stories publicly. Secondly, I collaborated with Small Groups and Discipleship ministry staff in recruiting and interviewing volunteer leaders. This led to the responsibility of coaching and mentoring a team of five small group leaders. Overall, it was a challenging and rewarding experience; I loved how the internship seamlessly tied together my strongest core competencies with my heart for serving and helping others. Show less

Senior Sales Associate / Stock Lead

Sep 2009 - Jun 2015
It was a joy to serve customers at DSW. I built trust and camaraderie with our guests by handling monetary transactions with prompt and efficient service. I also used my analytical skills by monitoring inventory to maintain the accuracy of product count and system integrity. Lastly, I modeled leadership skills by training new associates on how to deliver customer service that was passionate, friendly, helpful, and real. Given my job performance, I was promoted from Sales Associate to Stock Lead, and later to a Senior Sales Associate with MOD responsibilities. Show less
