As an Electronics Engineer at the British Underwater Test and Evaluation Centre my major responsibilities have encompassed vast amounts of technical knowhow, coupled with a sense of diagrammatical interpretation in order to find complex faults and provide superlative rectification maintenance. As part of the maintenance cycles it is vital that Radar, Networked Communications, IT, GPS, Acoustic and Hydrophone sub systems are kept in full working order to mitigate minimal downtime. Under my remit, I remain fully accountable for the delivery of maintenance at sea, covering ship borne tracking systems and associated GPS equipment. Deploying, as necessary relevant test equipment to gather and collate VELO test readings. Other Key Responsibilities:• Carry out modifications, repairs or replacements on all system cables including Cat5, Cat6, coax, fibre, 2 and 3 core power cable and associated connectors including BNC, TNC, N type, RJ 45.• Assisted in the trial and testing of range specific testing conducted with Naval surface, subsurface and aviation assets.• Conducted all taskings pertaining to antenna arrays and radar towers complying with a permit to work system and working at height H+S legislation.• Program and initialise sonar buoys, loading them onto a helicopter launcher assembly for sea launching.

Lead small teams in order to complete complex installation, configuration, inspection, repair and modification of a wide variety of communications and installations equipment in order to maintain operational effectiveness. Heavily involved in the fault diagnosis and subsequent rectification maintenance of all faults within this equipment. Regularly liaised with senior executives in order to provide up to date and accurate fault analysis and progress reports.In addition to this capability, I assumed the role of signals instructor, teaching up to 30 students in order to ensure competency in vital deployable communications equipment. Roles and Responsibilities:• Planned all tasks prior to conducting maintenance to ensure all resources were available along with the correct prioritisation of multiple tasks.• Provided senior staff written and verbal technical briefs and fault reports.Diagnosed, controlled and rectified all faults concerned with telecommunications equipment.• Conducted detailed testing, monitoring results and diligently reporting these through the line management.• Ensure all H&S guidelines were adhered to during the application of any maintenance activity.• Performed Critical Fault Response duties, reacting to fault alarms whether on site or remotely to satellite locations.
