David was a terrific FD for UBM Canon Events and a major support to me personally in my 2 years integrating what was a small-midsized, PE owned business into a large, publicly listed corporate. He was operationally very tight on the day-to-day financial management of the business, which operated events not only across the USA but in 12 countries around the world. He also added considerable strategic as well as operational value to me and my senior management team as a finance business partner – spanning medium-long term business planning, NPD and portfolio management / discontinuation through to events pricing, sales team commission plans etc. David was extremely hard working, responsible, resilient, adaptable and responsive to changing requirements, processes and systems from his internal customers (from local to regional management to international plc). A highly personable colleague and leader, he also professionalised his department, building a high performance team for who he was a demanding but at the same time hugely supportive boss.

David is a diligent, creative finance professional. He has made a significant and measurable difference to the business. He continues to implement new process and tools that add value. He also has good collaborative instincts that enroll the other business leaders. They see him as partner in reaching goals. In less than a year, we have improved all aspects of financial management, and David takes credit for that.
