  Testing an endpoint on Windows, Linux, macOS, Android and iOS as well as testing the endpoint's portal interface and backend. Integration testing between the endpoint, backend and portal UI. Basic tasks include Manual testing, running internally developed automated test tools, python scripting, bash/batch scripting & creating/updating test cases. Experience with creating & configuring virtual machines from scratch (installer iso files) using VMware Workstation on Windows, Fusion on macOS, & ESXi in a remote lab. I am familiar with Windows Desktops, Windows Server, Debian family linux, CentOS family linux, & macOS. Advanced tasks include, managing a small test team, keeping our monthly release process on track, running SQL queries, supporting product management, development, & customer support to address customer problem. Building and maintaining internal wiki pages. I get the test tasks where there are a lot of unknowns because I can work through it and turn the abstract into the concrete. I am a fast learner who can self-teach and self-manage. I take the initiative when I see that something needs to be done, but check with the stakeholders to make sure I am the right person to do it. Having been on our Endpoint projects for the better part of the decade, I now act as a bit of connective tissue between different teams (endpoint, backend, PM, support, etc.) and help onboard new team members because I have the deep content knowledge and the project's back history. This is a continuation of my previous job at Trustwave (April 2010 - July 2018). I didn't change employers. My employer created a new division/company so we can focus on the compliance business.   Lead tester for the SQL based analytics (data mining) module of our mobile wireless VPN solution. Planned and executed feature, performance and network testing using wired, wireless and wide area connections. Used SQL to independently query the database to verify report data accuracy. Conformance tested the most complex features and directed other testers to test the rest of the module. Performance and stress tested a fully populated system. Built and maintained an engineering/test lab at the Bethlehem office: domain controller; DHCP, file, web & database servers; general test servers & clients. Managed a lab configuration engineer. Wrote automation to centrally control a set of clients to simulate a large amount of specific client activity. Performed the standard set of senior engineer duties: developed test plans; mentored and directed junior engineers; tested; filed defect reports; interviewed candidates; reviewed requirements, specifications and documentation; Worked with international teams: a development team in the UK, a manufacturing team in Ireland, a sales team in Dubai and an external partner company in Taiwan. Identified a serious problem between the equipment and the end application; learned more about the protocol; developed a specification with the UK development team and persuaded the partner company in Taiwan to add a new feature late in the development cycle that addressed the problem. Under very tight time constraints, characterized a hardware substitution workaround to address a product problem; identified the limitations and caveats and presented the information at the sales engineer meeting. Designed and performed a hardware demonstration to a mixed (technical and non-technical) crowd; highlighted new technical features with an easy to understand, graphical presentation. Excellence in the Workplace Award: recognized for my work on the evaluation of a potential partners’ equipment; discovered and characterized a problem that made the unit unacceptable.
