David is one of the strongest front end developers I've worked with in my many years at John Lewis. His problem solving skills, work ethic and thirst for new knowledge are second to none. He has a great ability to generate innovative new ideas and take his team on a journey to understand and implement them. He is excellent at explaining complex technical subjects in an easy to understand and approachable way. As a mentor for me in my first steps into front end development, I've also really appreciated his approachability and his patience to help me learn. He has contributed loads to both my team and the wider FE community during his time at JL. Hoping that our paths cross again in the future!

David is a total technical expert, bringing a profound knowledge in countless industry-leading tools (e.g. AWS Lambda) as well as in the frameworks/languages he works with (e.g. GraphQL). He emanates best practices and, as a project lead, masterfully traverses product requirements, architecting and delivering elegant solutions in a concise fashion. His attention to sound agile project management is exemplary and the clarity of thought he brings diffuses across the entire team. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with David and I have picked up countless items from him.

Worked on the Authentication team, transitioning from their in-house Rails authentication mechanism to AWS Cognito; supported by Lambda triggers to facilitate seamless user migration. Afterwards, I lead the implementation of a service to audit user activity, helping to ensure compliance with GDPR. This service used AWS DynamoDB, Lambda and API Gateway.
