Held day-to-day responsibility for $9M Vacant Property Initiative and $2M Disposition / Rehab Initiative. Supervised one program officer and provided strategic guidance and technical assistance to grantees across life cycle of programs. Created statewide foreclosure prevention outreach campaign with NYS Home Ownership Protection Program (HOPP) network for expiring COVID-19 foreclosure moratoria. Public Policy and Advocacy – Advanced priority housing and economic development legislation (e.g., Neighborhood Homes Investment Act). Monitored federal, state, and local legislation on housing preservation and COVID-19 resources. Engaged cities, universities, NY Land Bank Association, NY Conference of Mayors, and other stakeholders to expand practitioner network and knowledge on vacant property issues.Thought Leadership – 2022 Cornell University / LISC community resiliency pilot design, and 2019 Community and Regional Development conference; Urban Institute research study; HUD Distressed Community Technical Assistance (DCTA) project in West Memphis, AR; webinars on mortgage and tax foreclosure, receivership, housing stability, help for small property owners, and emergency mortgage and rental assistance.
