      Development of organ-on-chip, biomolecular kits for the monitoring of microplastics in agro-food products and organic matrices. Preparation of the samples to be analyzed; molecular investigation through Real Time PCR and creation of ORGAN-ON-CHIP sensors through microfluidics. Use extraction methods in collaboration with EcamRicert to be able to extract microplastics from solid and semi-solid organic matrix as agri-food products; test new biological analysis methodologies (in collaboration with Biofield Innovation Srl) to evaluate the toxicity of these contaminants directly on the foods under study; develop an organ-on-chip kit inherent to the biological field (collaboration with Biofield Innovation Srl) that gives the possibility of quantifying directly on the food the quantity of microplastics present through biochemical assays, giving to the consumers more information regarding the toxicity of the tested food.

      During my education and work experience I acquired technical skills in molecular biology techniques (proteins extraction from cultured cells; Western Blot analysis; RNA/DNA extractions from tissues and cells; proteins electrophoresis; immunofluorescence assay, immunoprecipitation, digital droplet PCR (ddPCR); in cellular biology techniques (culture, expansion, storage, thawing and plating of cancer and normal cell lines; DNA overexpression/silencing using cellular transfection and transduction; proliferation assay. In particular, our group in National Cancer Istitute in Aviano (Italy), is currently studying breast cancer in young women (BCYW). Compared to older patients, these women display worse response to standard therapies, higher risk of relapse and lower overall survival, especially evident in the usually less aggressive Luminal-histotype. I focused my interest on DNA library preparation for NGS sequencing. Breast cancer young women tumor tissues are used for DNA sequencing, using a homemade panel of genes chosen among the most mutated genes in luminal breast cancer. I'm experienced with IGV, Cosmic, Variant Studio data analysis softwares.
