I carried out my thesis "chemoenzimatic synthesis of Bengamide E" in BOG group at University of Genoa. The aim of the project was the synthesis of Bengamide E, a natural product known for its antitumoral activity. During this period I collaborated to this project, aquiring good lab skills, and overcame typical problems related to total syntheses such as planning of synthetic process and optimization of synthetic steps. During this period of training I learned and applied classic techniques of organic chemistry such as chromatography, crystallization and running reactions under inert atmosphere (nitrogen, argon); my work was aimed at writing the thesis "synthesis of complex nitrogen heterocycles through multicomponent reaction followed by cyclizations catalyzed by transition metals" and led to a synthesis of a library of organic compounds.
