Production Engineer

Working with the R&D team, I participate in the design, development and testing of new products. Analyzation of new designs to ensure manufacturability throughout the design cycle is key. I review designs with compliance engineering to insure that potential new products meet specification requirements, including requirements of industry certification bodies, such as CSA, NFPA, FCC and ISO standards. Once the design cycle is complete, I work with production management to ramp up production of the new product. I am responsible for releasing the design package to purchasing and production. I draft assembly and validate test procedures, production runners, quality inspection procedures and other process documents as required. Production engineering works with operations and production to set up new assembly lines and procure necessary tools and equipment. I also train production staff to produce the new product. Additional responsibilities include providing support to the production lines as problems arise and working with the rest of the engineering team as needed to resolve production issues. Show less

Provided field service and support in the Southeast United States for a wide array of photographic processing and printing equipment. In addition to installation, calibration and repair of photo equipment, I provided technical support to customers. As the photo industry transitioned from traditional film and paper photo processing to digital, I worked with the customer base to help them adapt to the transition. This included expanding my skill set to troubleshoot, repair and support digital scanners, printers and internet-based digital imaging technologies. Show less
