  At Ilham Gallery, I worked in all different aspects of gallery management and exhibition curatorship from liaison with artists for collection of works, setting up and taking down exhibition displays, artwork maintenance and preservation, gallery floor and visitor management as well as research and event management. I was also able to use my design skills to produce promotional materials and exhibition signage for the two exhibitions, Era Mahatir and Afterworks.   The 2014 George Town Heritage Celebrations Festival with the theme Living Legacies highlighted 12 traditional local craft practices. Working with artist Liew Kung Yu, Artistic Director of the Festival, my role included leading a team of colleagues (writer and photographer) to undertake in-depth research and documentation of all the craft making processes, training dozens of facilitators to support the master craft makers, in addition to synthesising and translating these processes into an instruction manual with step-by-step instructions which was used by over 1,000 members of the public who participated in these hands-on craft learning activities during the Festival. I was also apprenticed for several months to understudy master Nyonya Manik bead maker, Madam May Lim Siew Seng, while also learning all the other traditional crafts including rattan weaving and wood carving.
