From Union Springs, AL, she never abandoned her roots. Attending law school at the University of Alabama, she had to interrupt her studies upon her father's death and became the Law School's librarian. She was beloved by her clerks, staff and fellow judges. It was a pleasure and an honor to serve her for 2 years.
