Responsible for all engineering, sustaining, and productivity of the fabrication departments for a 500,000-sq. ft., 1,200 employee manufacturing facility with annual sales in excess of $700 million with seven manufacturing and industrial engineers reporting to me.Responsibilities include new product introduction, sustaining engineering, continuous improvement, and tracking key production indices. In addition, responsible for the assembly line designs, plant layouts of equipment, and training of the work force in Monterrey, Mexico. Helped develop and implement the plan to transfer two assembly lines from; plant to Monterrey Mexico. Designed the new assembly lines and facility layout there. Coordinated the move of 37 major pieces of equipment into this facility as well as dies and storage racks.Trained the engineers in Mexico on assembly and fabrication processes for the product. Simultaneously worked on the project to insource 45 pieces of equipment from; facitlity, back to Tyler. Also, insourced over 100 fabrication processes from other suppliers. Developed the facility layout of the insourced equipment, tooling, and racking to reduce travel within the plant and minimize the space requirements.Helped develop and implement the plan to transfer an additional assembly line to another plant in Monterrey Mexico. Relocated four pieces of equipment and 37 dies and fabrication processes.Trained the supervisors and engineers in the assembly processes, and assisted with startup.Currently working with the Carrier North American Information Technology team to up-grade computer systems and programs to improve scheduling, lead times, and manufacturing processes.
