This new role came about after an internal restructure in the accounting department of the EMEA head office I was transferred to a newly formed group called the Monitoring Control Team – specifically dealing with accounting control within the EMEA Region. This included 2 major changes: 1) Managing a successful transfer from our sage accounting system to SAP. A Shared Services centre was set up (which had separate AP, AR, Payroll, General Ledger & Inter-company sections) On this transfer 3 months past accounts were moved onto SAP, 3 months parallel accounts (on both SAP & SAGE) were run to ensure no problems occurred and then SAP took over as the main accounting system. I worked will all sections of the Shared Service team and assisted the hand over working with both the accounting sections and IT section. During this time also insuring the monthly reporting to New York was not affected. 2) Managing a hand over project of the IPG Hong Kong holding companies accounting to locally based staff in Hong Kong so that the Asia PAC Monitoring Control team could report under this existing company. This including travelling to Hong Kong and working with the existing team to ensure they understood the current state of the company and what had to be completed then reported to New York each month. This was a very successful hand over.
