      Staff editor. I edited articles in all sections of the magazine. As a contributor, I specialized in cultural reportage, book reviews, and first-person essays. Continued as a contributor, after taking a new job at the National Endowment for the Humanities, through the end of 2018. Wrote one of the last cover stories ever published by this important magazine of politics and culture.
