I have worked with Robinson Ralph for about a year now and in particular with David. David is extremely responsive, also balanced in his advice and guidance and very knowledgeable. I can't recommend David enough - and he has a great sense of humour too!
Tracey McCarthy
Definitely not a 9-5 Solicitor! David worked closely with me recently to meet the needs of my client. His advice and support ensured we got the right result without any delays. Highly recommended to any employer needing legal support.

I deal with a wide variety of matters affecting employers and employees. I enjoy the technical challenges Employment Law involves, as well as the people-oriented focus, I aim to resolve situations in a way that allows the employer and employee to move forward positively. I advise on internal matters, including grievances and disciplinaries, restrictive covenants, and the application of and obligations arising under TUPE. I have an interest in the law on whistleblowing.I have experience of handling all types of Tribunal case, including all kinds of discrimination and victimisation, as well as unfair and constructive dismissal. I also have significant experience in the Employment Appeal Tribunal; for example, in 2013 I successfully defended an appeal against a Judgment that a claim for disability discrimination was out of time.I undertook the Bar Vocational Course at Nottingham Law School and cross-qualified as a solicitor in 2008. I have practiced Employment Law since 2003, beginning my career in a consultancy representing employers at Tribunals. I moved to work for a large national law firm, representing companies and employees in Employment Tribunal proceedings, as well as advising on employee relations issues.I have been published in the industry publication ELA Briefing.I pride myself on developing a good rapport with clients so that they appreciate that I understand the outcomes they are looking to achieve. Comments include the following: “I would like to put on record, formally, my deepest appreciation to you for all your hard work in getting us to this point. From the outset I have found you to be hugely professional, incredibly thorough, very clear in all your explanations (both written and in discussion), patient and conscientious in all that you have done.”I graduated in law from the University of Liverpool in 2001. Before joining Lyons Davidson, I worked as an Employment Advocate representing Respondent employers in Employment Tribunals.
