Test Engineer II
-
Oct 2021 - Present
As a member of the Central Engineering team I oversee mechanical and thermal analysis of PTFE materials carried out in Greene Tweed's materials laboratory as well as oversee our ISO 17025:2017 compliance and accreditation activities. My knowledge of ASTM standards and material testing is leveraged to provide insight and analysis regarding Greene Tweed's compliance to various customer and industry specifications as well as ensuring our compliance to our own material specifications. I take an active role in qualifying resin, investigating product failures and conducting data analysis. While I'm based out of our Kulpsville production facility but I also serve our other domestic and international sites. Show less

Stockwell is one of the leading converters of silicone rubber in the region. I was responsible for generating quotations, improving manufacturing processes, eliminating waste, and making the operation as lean as possible. I've also worked with customers and the applications team to develop custom gaskets for environmental sealing, EMI shielding, ESD prevention and vibration dampening to produce as much value as possible in their interactions with Stockwell. Jul 2014 - Jun 2017
I worked on development programs for coating technology that enabled aeronautical crafts to navigate. My work consisted of researching and developing new ceramic and metallic materials that possess a coefficient of thermal expansion similar to a given base material as well as having specified electrical and mechanical properties. I also collaborated team members to design fixtures for producing said coatings in the most effective way given the allotted time for the program. If a program moved past the development phase I also participated in assembling and implementing custom equipment to perform tasks such as spray coating and screen printing, as well as producing written documentation of process development/work instructions for custom and purchased equipment. During my time at Arkema I was responsible for performing material analysis on different formulations of raw material meant to go into a wide variety of applications from medical to automotive. Tests I would perform included scratch and mar, colorimetry, tensile tests, Izod impact, Charpy impact, melt flow, Dynatup impact, heat deflection and chemical resistance. After performing the tests I would summarize data that would be presented at gate meetings to determine how product lines would proceed to market based on their performance. Show less
