EBOLA EMERGENCE RESPONSE - UNHRDCountries supported:• Sierra Leone – Duty station: Freetown (Oct 2014 – April 2015)OBJECTIVE:WFP Logistics was to support the efforts of the Government, together with the humanitarian community, to provide assistance for affected populations by supporting coordination within the humanitarian logistics sector and by making common logistics services available to responding organisations.Coordination: Co-leading humanitarian logistics coordination mechanisms established in each of the affected countries.Information Management: Collecting, consolidating, and sharing key information on logistics operations and available capacities.Common Logistics Services: Augmenting existing in-country logistics capacities (Transport and Storage for relief items) to ensure sufficient overall capacity is available to meet the need of the response.Reporting line: The Supply-chain/Pipeline Officer reported to the Logistics Cluster CoordinatorRESPONSIBILITIES:Humanitarian Supply• Produce a consolidated overview of the humanitarian supply chain for Sierra Leone. Working with WHO and UNICEF Pipeline Group support development of reporting template for supply information on key items: PPE and other if required (by sector).• Distribute reporting formats as required. Compile Agencies' relief commodities information and summarise in pre-determined formats to provide regional coordination mechanisms an overview of the supply situation.• Ensure information captured includes supply needs, in-country stock levels (“Available” for hubs and warehouses; “Distributed” for Ebola Treatment Centres - ETCs and Community Care Centres - CCCs), procurement status, and shortfalls.• Work with the Logistics Officers from responding organisations to resolve discrepant data prior to inputting in the consolidated report.
