I had a wonderful opportunity to work here under the guidance and supervision of Michele Stamp. During the internship, I was able to work with a variety of students on strength and mobility activities as well as several manual techniques including BART massage. I was also able to learn valuable techniques for how to make activities enjoyable while simultaneously accomplishing the goals implemented by the PT. During the course of my time here, I was able to determine what path I wanted to take for my career, and through encouragement and guidance from Michele and my PTA instructor from Genesee Community College, Doctor Chris Caputi, I was motivated to pursue my doctorate in physical therapy. I am very grateful for my time at NYSSB. It is a very encouraging environment in which I was able to learn a lot about my field and about myself. Show less

I had a great opportunity to have my first clinical internship at LeRoy Physical Therapy, and I learned a lot under the supervision and instruction of Laurie Yaskulski PTA. While at LeRoy Physical Therapy, I implemented hot/cold modalities, ultrasound, and electrotherapy, provided manual therapy techniques to patients, performed functional outcomes measurement tests, measured joint range of motion, performed manual muscle tests, and instructed patients with progressive resistant exercises and aquatic therapy exercises. I had a great opportunity to work with a number of patients with varying orthopedic conditions. Show less
