International Director of Business Development

My role has been to identify, qualify and shape a sustainable international customer base with focus on Dismounted Close Combat Groups and Soldier Modernization Programs. Instrumental and critical in the planning of foreign policy throughout Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East, whilst maintaining and building relationships in the United Kingdom. Key skills have been networking and researching of potential new opportunities to identify the key buying influences responsible for the economic, end user and technical roles. Understanding the economy, history, culture, laws, business practices and trade patterns of the target country has been essential. In addition, a broader understanding of issues common to any international work has been acquired: global travel, risk mitigation, international contracts, offsets and FMS. I have regularly dealt with a wide variety of organisations, including Ministries of Defence, government procurement agencies and major defence OEM. I have built a more focused and responsive network of distributors to encourage a positive and co-operative approach from all stakeholders
