Tim Butterfield

I worked with David for 6 months whilst he was on a graduate scheme at TFL and he demonstrated all of the characteristics you'd want in a developer. He's enthusiastic, eager to learn and always willing to roll his sleeves up and get his hands dirty. He demonstrated an eye for detail and adopted the teams pragmatic approach to problem solving. Continuous improvement is something David believes in, best demonstrated by his skilling up, appetite for knowledge and proactive refactoring. He was always happy to pair, welcomes criticism and was a pleasure to work with. He was a great asset and will go far in this industry. Tim

Took part in a “mini project” simulation as part of the induction to my year placement. This involved capturing requirements and creating all of the documentation needed for a project, including a test specification, and going through document review processes over a 2 week period. Worked in safety critical software verification (in C). This involved validating C code and UML design, and also modifying code and rewriting design when necessary. Delivered completed work to an outsource company in compliance with strict deadlines, this often involved working under pressure to deliver results in a limited amount of time, in order to move the project forward. Took part in volunteering projects through the company, one of which involved delivering lessons to high school children and liaising with teachers and other school staff to arrange our school visits and school trips, (using email and phone conversations;) another involved leading a project to build content for a stand at a careers fair and working with the general public at a number of large careers events. Wrote and delivered a professional presentation by myself on behalf of my company to recruit graduate employees at a careers event. Show less
