      This was a 9 Month placement from University of Limerick. I was placed in the Industrial Engineering Department in Building 2. I carried out Time Cycle studies to improve efficencys on the assembly lines for various products. I was the draughtsman for new SMT & assembly line layouts for Building 3. I liased with head of operations in US and attended many planning meetings for the new building. I completed numerous ergonomic studies and installed new chairs, keyboard & screen holders to maximise operator comfort. I was responsible for updating & maintaining JIT process for existing products and for bringing new products online. I had weekly meetings with planing and production to ensure flow of materials was kept to meet production demand. I made recomendations and implimented changes fpr product storage based on volumes / throughput. I overseen various projects including bumper rails instalations to protect feeder carts from Forklifts, re-organising laydown areas, assistance with security measures for packing of palm pilots on site, and traffic management / planning for robotic transportation system.
