Substitute Teacher
-
Dec 2018 - May 2020
Part time substitute teacher at Southern Regional Middle School and High School. where I assisted and/or taught in a variety of grades and subjects ranging from 7th-12th grade. I taught during my off periods while not attached to a vessel. The position provided me with many different and unique experiences within the classroom as well an opportunity to practice public speaking, leadership approaches, and how to keep a group engaged. This experience and practice was transferred to my primary career in the Maritime Industry by allowing me to have access to different teaching and leadership styles that I could use to help train oncoming crew members within the engine department of the vessel I was attached as well as better communication abilities with my crewmates.
