  Assistant to the 2nd Officer I was able to learn the mechanics of the position on board a busy and intense Platform Supply Vessel servicing Oil and Gas installations in the North Sea. My designated duties; passage planning, watch keeping, updating of charts and nautical publications, manning on deck with wash downs, PM’s, routine tasks and projects (including two yard periods). I reported to the Chief Officer on inspection of LSA & FFA Monthly and weekly checks.
