May 2014 - Aug 2017
Currently focusing on acquisition and divestiture opportunities for the Eagle Ford asset. Responsible for the technical valuations, cost analysis, and economic modeling for sell-side/buy-side processes.Other responsibilities include: - Working alongside technical team to manage asset base- Updating resource potential and recoverable reserves - Evaluating spacing of future development to optimize value- Evaluating effects of completion effectiveness and well interference - Provide RTA and reservoir simulation support Show less

Reservoir Engineer II
-
May 2012 - May 2014
Primary duties include collaboration with geologists, drilling, and completion engineers to identify subsurface locations and determine their economic viability. Also, study the effects of completion effectiveness, well interference, wellbore trajectories, and targeting. Other responsibilities include:- Delineate and develop play extension opportunities- Prepare economic appraisals for lease acquisition and divestitures- Analyze changes in completion design and make recommendations based on well performance- Study PVT and SEM data to further understand and define geo-chemical attributes across the play- Define total resource in place and track recovery factors as a function of geo-target/completion design- Quantify the effects of pressure depletion on development well packages - Monitor industry activity in surrounding areas- Evaluate and optimize well spacing in select subtrends to maximize recovery factor while meeting our economic ROR threshold as a division- Determine total reserve potential for EOG's acreage position in the Barnett Shale oil window Show less

Engineer I
-
Jun 2010 - May 2012
New engineers spend two years rotating throughout all petroleum disciplines. Time was split between field operation roles and in-office projects.Completions- Coordinate the logistics of obtaining and classifying the reservoir rock and fluid samples- Develop new crushed shale testing protocol with Multi-Chem and correlate lab to field data- Successfully implement large-scale batch testing on all of EOG's unconventional oil shale plays. - Implement new chemical program to the following plays: Leonard, Eagle Ford, Bakken, Barnett, Muskwa, Waskada, Nordegg, Niobrara. Production- Perform cost-analysis on all producing wells in Cooke & Montague counties.- Determine candidates for workover and P&A programs - Field operations include: lease operator, fishing operations, automation team, and SWD facility operations. Facilities- Model field-wide gathering system in PipeSim to identify and predict future choke points- Review current design specs for heather treaters and sand separators and propose changes in dimensions based on production trends per area- Map the volumetric requirements for each trend area and run economics to determine the most efficient and cost effective facility design.Production Technology- Help design and take lead on the construction of our in-house multi-phase flow testing lab.- Implement design of flow equipment, measurement devices, data recording software, and safety protocols involved in the flow loop- Perform multi-phase flow studies in facility and learn how to operate flow loop and analyze data- Develop a multiphase flow video library to be uploaded to the EOG Company Wide Website.Drilling- Work with Geology and Land departments and design several well plans- Develop Flat Time Analysis suite for iDrilling which uses raw Pason data and applies an algorithm to track drilling time and bin it into certain operations- Spend approximately half my time working on the rig shadowing a company man Show less

Office Completions Intern

May 2009 - Aug 2009
Primary goal included analyzing previous surfactant chemicals used in frac'ing and proposing techniques for optimization. - Testing began in the Barnett Shale oil window. - Met with several chemical experts and discussed additives and their roles in increasing oil recovery. - Developed a testing mechanism and protocol concurrently with Multi-Chem to batch test surfactant additives. - Once we found the laboratory results to be consistent with field trials, we optimized our frac cocktail to develop our current best practices. - The information and testing procedure was disseminated to other EOG divisions and wide-scale testing was done on core samples from several unconventional oil plays. Jul 2007 - Aug 2007
Primary duty involved researching well logs in the Midland Energy Library. Learned the basics of log evaluation and helped the senior geologist identify pay zones for future completions. Found several up hole candidates and made recommendations for target interval and stimulation design. Also took courses industry courses throughout the summer on Well Logging and Drillstem Testing.
