He studies vertical hydroponic systems for plant factories in partnership with La Boîte Maraîchère. He oversees the Canadian Integrated Northern Greenhouse, a hybrid between a growth chamber and a northern greenhouse housed in a shipping container designed to provide an energy efficient indoor food production unit for northern Canada. To reduce input needs of remote food production systems, he also studies organic nutrient solution using vermicompost and chicken manure extracts, which can replace chemical fertilizers in hydroponic cultures.
