  I was working as an assistant in conducting bat research, predominantly by conducting bat roost inspections, transect counts and mistnetting. I was familiarised with basic bat survey methodology, basic determination of local species, proper bat handling and use of equipment, such as handheld ultrasound detectors (heterodyne and time expansion) and the SM4BAT-FS ultrasonic recorder.
