  I have been enjoying the role of IT Delivery Manager which encompasses skills associated with a Scrum Master, Team Leader, Project Manager and lead designer/BA in an Agile Development environment. Primarily this has been coordinating a team of Developers, Business Analysts and System Testers to deliver priority software enhancements to the core WorkCover Qld Insurance and Claims Software.

  Initially starting at WorkCover as a Oracle Developer using tools such as Oracle Designer, Oracle Reports, Oracle Forms, PLSQL and SQL to enhance and maintain the core WorkCover QLD application and many subsidiary applications. In 2010 a management decision was implemented to move away from ORACLE Forms and Reports, and into a WEB based technology. This facilitated a rewrite of the application using JAVA. The project was given a year to complete. I was placed on a 3 day course to learn JAVA and SPRING and then with the help of new JAVA developers mentored in producing code for the new application. I also was involved in helping the Business Analysts to process flow existing functionality and suggest improvements to process or behaviour. I acted as a liaison between the business and the technical teams to assist in the identification of current IT solution and supported processes to define business problems, system design, testing and implementation of the project.   I spent a few years contracting to Oracle who would then sub contract my services out to associated work around Brisbane. Some of this project work was large and some as small as 8 weeks.
