Dave and I worked together on the recent Cleveland MetroHealth project over a 4-year span. As the VP/PM for Gorman Lavelle he was very organized and detailed throughout the project. He has strong layout skills and would jump into the modeling process from time to time and give the team input and direction. He has a strong technical skill set and is proactive in problem-solving. I witnessed Dave’s commitment to his role firsthand, and I recommend him without hesitation.

2019-2021 MetroHealth Campus Transformation Underground Plumbing (MMC Contractors National Inc. / Turner Construction Co.)• Note: see the "Above Ground" project description.2018-2021 Euclid High School (Hammond Construction Co.)• Learned that there were infrequent meetings taking place (and limited to no communication) as it pertained to the BIM Coordination process. Key dates were slipping and there was no plan in place to set the process in the right direction. All parties had good intentions, but there was no leadership and the various stakeholders lacked the necessary big project experience to effectively manage the process. I obtained buy-in from the CM and the Mechanical Contractor that I would lead the process going forward. I hosted multiple meetings per week and held the various parties accountable for their respective deliverables. The process allowed for the team to make up for lost time and meet the published construction schedule dates.2018-2019 John F. Kennedy High School (The Albert M. Higley Co.)• Performed the BIM Coordination and related installation, prefabrication, and MEP Layout drawings for the project.2018-2020 Amazon Bark Fulfillment Center (Whiting-Turner Contracting Co.)• Same responsibilities as the project below. Nearly identical structures and plumbing systems.2017-2018 Amazon Goliath Fulfillment Center (Clayco Inc.)• Managed the project from inception to completion.• Constant communication with the customer.• Performed all typical Project Management Duties.2013-2016 Hilton Cleveland Downtown (Turner Construction Co.)• Project Manager, BIM Manager, & BIM Coordinator roles.• Aggressive BIM Coordination schedule that closely followed the Fast-Tracked CPM Construction Schedule.• Created most detailed and data rich 3D BIM model to-date.• Worked with Helm Group's Mechanical Inc. division, MEP Manager with 40+ years of experience, and one of our top General Foremen with 25+ years of experience. With creativity, teamwork, communication, & perseverance we were able to find alternative routes that not only allowed for the systems to functionally fit, but also reduced material, labor, & risk resulting in a significant cost savings.• Worked a General Foreman that had 25+ years of experience and collaboratively with a designer having 15+ years of Plumbing, HVAC, & Mechanical Piping Coordination experience. 2013-2014 Browns First Energy Stadium Preconstruction & Phase I (Turner Construction Co.)• " " " "2010-2013 Cleveland Medical Mart and Convention Center (Turner Construction Co.)• Exceeds character limit.2008-2010 University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center (Gilbane Building Co.)• Managed CPM Construction Schedule (Logic & Key Dates)• Supervised the 2D Coordination Process, GL - L2. Ensured that coordination schedule complimented the construction schedule.• Implemented Autodesk Fabrication CADmep software (formerly TSI CADmep), Building-Data, and Navisworks Manage workflow on L3 - L7. This was the company's first VDC pilot project for leveraging Building Information Modeling (BIM). Required almost daily contact with customer support to resolve software glitches.• Brought the MEP Field Layout Process with Trimble Robotic Total Station in-house. Since this was a pilot project, I worked in the field with our General Foreman to perform the layout in the field over the winter months in extreme weather conditions to ensure success. 3,000+ sleeves were laid out to 1/16”-1/8” accuracy, which resulted in few changes. This included tight tolerances such as 3-1/2” OD sleeves in 3-5/8” walls along curved corridors.• Used third party pipe bending company to create custom fabrication pieces due to unique building angles within the Garden Level Corridor and outside of the Central Utility Plant, where space for swing joints did not exist.• Provided point loads for all hanger points above a certain weight threshold in the Central Energy Plant as the Roof was inadequately designed to support Mechanical and Plumbing Systems. This was an E&O insurance claim against the engineering company for the oversight due to lack of interdisciplinary coordination.• Worked with and learned from a senior ranking General Foreman having 44+ years of experience. Also, collaborated with our Vice President with 20+ years of experience and Senior Estimator with 35+ years of experience. Show less
