  I joined Knowledge Society in 2015, leading qualitative and quantitative research activities. These projects have utilised several different analytical techniques, including scenario planning, emerging issues analysis, causal layered analysis, and quantitative analysis. A key area of focus has been the IT-based “fifth industrial revolution” and issues with stalled productivity growth. This has involved identifying successful innovation policies and strategies, the associated policy and enterprise challenges for clients. These challenges include threats to existing markets and the possibility of new ones. The global tilt to Asia and its implications for Australian industry has been another area of focus, particularly its impact on food security and agriculture. These challenges also include threats to employment, with the associated and needed reform of the education system to help retrain displaced workers. This has included policy analysis of the Australian VET system and its current weaknesses, and research analysis of successful school classroom practice.
