    • Regional IT Head for Asia, and the Middle East
      • Jan 2004 - Apr 2009

In this senior leadership role, I was responsible for all IT and facility services across Asia and the Middle East, reporting directly to the IT Director in London and the Senior Regional Partner stakeholders. With a team of thirty-two people across six offices, we supported over 500 lawyers and support staff. As part of this role, I was responsible for IT strategy, budgeting, team management within the regions and had management oversight of all IT and facility projects, from conception, approval and planning to resource management, deployment and sign-off. Some of the key IT projects I managed involved new office integrations, office moves and new office fit-outs, equipment procurement, asset management, change control, risk analysis and due diligence. In 2007 I relocated to Singapore for two years. I planned, developed and implemented in Singapore a regional support services hub, which then became a template for the rest of the IT team worldwide. Later, hubs of a similar nature were set up in Ireland and Poland, using a "follow the sun" service and support desk for lawyers and support staff globally. As part of this project, we outsourced the firm's entire user registration process to a new team in Singapore, bringing dramatic cost savings and improvements in efficiency and accountability with the implementation of SLAs and OLAs of the IT team across Asia and the global organisation. I set up a Support Staff training program called Passport that allowed team members to gain new skills and have a clear path for their career development within the organisation. When the GFC happened, I took redundancy and returned to Australia for family reasons. Show less
